This Travel Hack is a Game-Changer! I am a huge fan of travel hacks.
How to get the cheapest tickets? Sign me up!
Where to get a discount on a 5 star hotel? Yes, please!
Where to find the best little restaurant that the locals love? I’m in!
With the right intel, traveling can be such a pleasure.
But packing can be such a nightmare!
Especially with rising baggage check fees and limited carry on sizes. For a while I
thought there was really no way around paying ridiculous fees, and lugging two or more heavy
bags around to get me through a week-long getaway!
This year I decided that travel stress just wasn’t for me. I wasn’t going away to feel weighed
down, anymore! I was going away to enjoy myself and feel free! And when I was traveling for
work or family obligations, I figured, all the more reason to make the process as comfortable as
possible! The number one way I could do that was to lighten my load. So I said bye-bye to my
bulky suitcases and hello to my carry on.
How much could I really fit in there, I wondered?
At first, I panicked. Would I really have enough to wear? But then, I started to get intentional
with my selections. I realized if I packed wisely I could combine the pieces I chose to create
several classy, unique looks. In fact, I found looks in my wardrobe that I didn’t realize I could
whip up before!
But then I had another “a-ha!” moment! I realized many of my favorite items from Clara Sunwoo
were so lightweight that I could fold them into the slimmest little rectangles. One time, just for
fun, I tried it out and I fit 35 pieces in my carry on!
By strategically combining lightweight fabrics with fun, versatile pieces that could take me from
daytime to nighttime, I changed my whole packing game. Now I have at least 20 looks with me
whenever I travel. And all I carry is my carry on. I never hustle or grunt or break a sweat at the
airport. I simply roll right up to the gate and relax!
Here are some of the pieces on my must-have packing list that make traveling so much lighter
possible.
The wide-leg trend is back and I love to play with
trends, but for me, these are a timeless classic.
The lines are luxurious and they are crazy
comfortable. Plus the pockets are so convenient!
This jumpsuit has such a unique look. I can wear it to daytime events, or dress it up with pumps, lipstick, and earrings for
a night out. Oh, and did I mention it has pockets?
Another item I always carry with me when I travel is the
Can you tell I have a thing for pockets? I love the sleek lines. It looks so refined, and adds texture to
my look but still feels incredibly soft and smooth.
I love pairing it with the Liquid Leather Leggings which, by the way, are another travel staple of mine!
They look so sleek and a little bit edgy.
I love that I can wear them as tights, layered with a skirt or dress, or as pants paired with a chic top.
It’s so lightweight that I can wear it like a cardigan, and it takes up next to no room in my carry on.
I’m usually a fan of classic black, but this season I purchased the cobalt blue and I am loving the pop of color it
adds to my wardrobe. It’s slightly edgy, very fun, and looks great with everything in my carryon!
and the Twist Hem Silver Drape Top.
Both of these tops have a little bit of flair, but they’re simple and
sophisticated enough to pair with anything and wear anywhere. I also really love that they’re
made of easy care, quick-drying fabric. I can easily wash and re-wear them with different pants,
skirts and cardigans to create new looks throughout my trip!
Now that I’ve learned how to travel light without sacrificing style or comfort, I’ll never go back!
My best friend has gasped when we meet up for a trip. “Is that seriously all your bringing?” she
asked. But her jaw really hit the floor when she saw how many fabulous looks I put together.
“Seriously,” she said, “You must be a witch!” But it wasn’t magic, it was just a little planning, a
dash of creativity, and a lot of fantastically made, lightweight, versatile clothing.
So next time you’re planning a trip, why not ditch your extra baggage?
Try traveling lighter.
I have a feeling you’ll love it as much as I do!
